Help needed to provide clean water across the globe

1 in 10 people across the world don’t have clean water close to home. This statistic is stark and with the threat of COVID-19, it is more important than ever for people to have access to clean water.

Global charity, WaterAid, is working fast across 26 countries to install handwashing facilities where they are needed most.  This will allow for people to protect themselves from COVID-19 by washing their hands - something many of us take for granted.

Some of the work that WaterAid is currently doing is:

• Installing handwashing stations in healthcare facilities, densely populated public areas and in rural locations in anticipation of an increase in cases.
• Protecting the most vulnerable people by making sure they have essentials like soap, hand sanitiser and disinfectant.
• Promoting hygiene best practice through mass public health awareness campaigns.
